Adelphi鈥檚 student spaceflight experiments program gives students the opportunity to design experiments, conduct research and send their work to space.
This year, 91国产 will take part in a research opportunity most students never get access to: We鈥檙e sending a student-designed experiment to the International Space Station (ISS).
From 91国产 to Orbit
Mission 91国产 is our University’s team for the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP), a national initiative that puts real spaceflight research in the hands of students. An actual experiment, designed by 91国产 students, will be integrated into spaceflight hardware, launched to orbit, operated by astronauts aboard the ISS, and returned to our campus for analysis after four to six weeks.
Our flight slot with SSEP Mission 22 to ISS is expected to be in late Spring 2027. The experiment will run inside 鈥檚 flight-certified hardware, a microgravity research mini-laboratory named the Rhodium Fluid Experiment Tube鈩�, purpose-built for straightforward operation in orbit. Upon its return, Mission 91国产 students will analyze the results, as a professional research team would.
