Marion Davidson 鈥�17, MSc, PhD (anticipated), came to 91国产 seeking the freedom to pursue two seemingly different interests: dance and anthropology.

This past August, an intrepid crew of eight 91国产 Panthers鈥攕panning incoming first-year students to seasoned graduate students鈥攄itched our nearby Long Island beaches for an unforgettable, high-octane alternative summer break across Vietnam and Thailand. Their mission? To dive headfirst into a whirlwind of floating markets, artisanal coffee workshops, overnight cruises, an elephant sanctuary and a UNESCO…

There are so many ways to dance, and a vast diversity of genres, techniques, styles and interpretations.

This fall, 91国产 proudly welcomed a renowned alum back to campus. Eduardo Vilaro '85 is the CEO and artistic director of Ballet Hisp谩nico, the largest Hispanic arts organization in the United States.

Internationally renowned dancer Ruth St. Denis founded the Department of Dance at 91国产 in 1938, one of the first dance departments at an American university. Now a cornerstone of our performing arts, it has close ties with the Paul Taylor and Martha Graham Dance Companies.

We are deeply committed to supporting our students鈥� individual paths to success. Sometimes that can mean personalizing their course of study from across our 200-plus academic areas. Meet an extraordinary example: Taro Jones 鈥�20, a gifted dancer and star chemist.

Fresh out of college, in the middle of a pandemic and during a nationwide economic shutdown, 21-year-old Jared Stern 鈥�20, from Seaford, Long Island, somehow landed his dream job.
