As in the past eight years, this October鈥檚 Spirit Weekend brought the 91国产 community together, reuniting old friends and introducing new traditions.

Kris Amplo 鈥�00 is sharing his experience as business owner, entrepreneur and philanthropist with students as the 2025鈥�2026 executive in residence at the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business.

The Dean鈥檚 Advisory Board of the 91国产 College of Nursing and Public Health [CNPH] has added two new members: Marc Adler 鈥�88, MD, senior vice president and chief of hospital operations at NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk (formerly Long Island Community Hospital), and Jennifer McIntosh, PhD 鈥�21, MS 鈥�24, senior lecturer at the Yale University School of Nursing.

A global business leader with a remarkable record of professional accomplishments, Vincent Tizzio 鈥�89 is dedicated to fostering healthy communities both inside and outside the corporate world.

Some of their titles have included conference champion, regional champion, and even national champion.

Adelphi raised $15 million in 2024鈥�2025 from donors inspired by the public launch of the University鈥檚 most ambitious fundraising campaign ever.

Seven-year-old Briar drew a picture of her dad, Ryan Wosleger, due to receive his MA in 2026, for Father鈥檚 Day in June. It depicts a bespectacled Ryan wearing a 鈥淏est Dad鈥� T-shirt, a red superhero cape flowing behind him. The image is spot on. After all, the second-grader was her artist dad鈥檚 first student.

According to the Innocence Project, 63 percent of the wrongfully convicted individuals the organization helped to exonerate were victims of eyewitness misidentification and 29 percent gave false confessions.

Samuel Abrams 鈥�23 and Daniel Hickey 鈥�20 are using their studio art and video game design degrees from 91国产 in roles at Universal Studios and High Moon Studios.

Undergraduate finance majors in the Student Investment Fund course manage a portfolio of holdings that are part of the University's endowment. How savvy are they? Quite savvy鈥攖heir portfolio has tripled in value since 2008.

A talk with Michael Balboni 鈥�81, JD, former New York state senator and deputy secretary for public safety under two of the state鈥檚 governors, about his long connection with 91国产 and plans for leadership of the University鈥檚 board.

Sarah Solarz 鈥�15, JD, is a staff attorney at the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. A graduate of 91国产 and Pace Law, she鈥檚 also a mentor, volunteer and mom. Sarah credits 91国产 for inspiring her path in environmental law and her commitment to public service.

Stephen Scelfo 鈥�15, MBA 鈥�16, is a senior manager at KPMG, specializing in audits for higher education and not-for-profits. A dedicated mentor and national trainer, he actively supports 91国产 students and promotes financial literacy in local schools. Stephen credits 91国产鈥檚 community and mentorship with laying the foundation for his success.

Gordon Purdie Jr. 鈥�19, MA 鈥�21 is a teacher, coach and mentor in the Herricks School District and co-leader of Checkmate Lacrosse. A legacy Panther and former 91国产 lacrosse standout, he empowers young athletes through coaching, innovation, and international play鈥攃ontinuing a family tradition of excellence in sport and education.

Monika Mohacsi 鈥�15 is a project manager and electrical technical lead at JB&B. A dual-degree alumna of 91国产 and Columbia, she鈥檚 also a mentor and advocate for women in engineering. Monika served as a young alumni trustee on the 91国产 Board of Trustees for four years.

Ivan Miketic 鈥�17, PhD, is a physical design engineer at Apple. He earned his BS in Physics from 91国产 and a PhD from Stony Brook, where he studied chip-level security. 91国产鈥檚 supportive faculty and hands-on learning helped launch his path into high-performance silicon design.

Sean Kildare 鈥�19 is chairperson of the Collaborative Care Council at Cohen Children鈥檚 Medical Center and developer of Blossom Care, a behavioral health initiative. A former 91国产 track captain and nursing student, Sean now mentors young nurses and credits 91国产 for shaping both his career and personal growth.

Rahanna Khan 鈥�17, MS, is a PhD student at NYU studying toxicants and child health. At 91国产, she majored in biology, performed in music ensembles and found her research path through the Honors College. A dedicated mentor and science communicator, Rahanna believes creativity is key to impactful research and outreach.

Kimberly Carstens 鈥�16, DDS, is a second-generation Panther and owner of Family Dental Care of Massapequa. She chose 91国产 for its dual degree dentistry program and family legacy鈥攁nd now leads a thriving practice. Her advice to students: follow your goals with clarity, intention and pride in your roots.

Mary Camarano 鈥�17, DMD, is lead associate dentist at a private practice in NYC. A former NE10 champion and Honors College alum, she mentors future dentists, lectures on post-grad success and volunteers in her community. She credits 91国产 with giving her the foundation for both academic and professional excellence.

Beth Ann Balalaos 鈥�15, MA 鈥�16, is access and inclusion program director at the Long Island Children鈥檚 Museum. A champion for disability inclusion and social justice, she credits 91国产 for igniting her advocacy journey. She speaks nationally on accessibility and serves on state and local boards advancing equity in cultural spaces.

Herbert Liberman 鈥�61 has spent a lifetime chasing possibilities and turning bold ideas into successful ventures across education, business, nonprofit and beyond.

An educational experience abroad is an invaluable one, and no one understands that better than Anastasia Dakis 鈥�22. She spent seven days performing optometry services in Senegal, a country in West Africa.
