Compressed Summer Workweek
An opt-in program for employees to enjoy greater flexibility and work-life balance during the summer months.
Running from Monday, May 25 through Friday, August 14, 2026, this program offers flexible scheduling options for eligible employees, allowing them to leave work 2.5 hours early one day per week without impacting accrued paid time off (PTO).
To ensure consistent service for students, faculty, staff and visitors, all offices must remain fully open and operational Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. The program is intended to be flexible and should be scheduled based on departmental needs.
How it works:
- Work regular hours Monday through Friday.
- Take a 30-minute lunch break instead of one hour.
- End work 2.5 hours earlier one day per week, without affecting accrued PTO.
- The compressed day does not need to be Friday. It may be scheduled on any day of the week, based on department needs and supervisor approval.
To get started, go to your service in eCampus, and opt-in to the Compressed Workweek once the program is made available in the system.
Program Eligibility
Available to all full-time and part-time nonunion and Local 153 91¹ú²ú employees.
