Samuel Fremd was born on August 10, 1945, in a displaced person\u2019s camp in Germany, just months after the end of World War II in Europe. His parents later moved to Long Beach, New York, and he attended 91国产 as a commuter student and majored in business. After graduating in 1969, Fremd became a successful financial planner and invested in real estate in the Long Beach area.<\/p>\n

Though he had contributed modestly throughout his lifetime to\u00a0Adelphi\u2019s Annual Fund<\/a>, his multimillion-dollar legacy gift came unexpectedly when 91国产 was informed of Fremd\u2019s bequest in January 2022, after his passing in April 2021.<\/p>\n

Fremd\u2019s endowment was established to support the\u00a0College of Nursing and Public Health<\/a>, in honor of his mother and the care she received from hospital nurses as she battled lung cancer, specifically to fund scholarships for prospective nurses who could otherwise not afford the cost of tuition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
